Our Family's Enduring Story
The family that prays together stays together. This timeless truth is the heartbeat of the Henderson, Kirkland, and Crockett families. Join us as we journey through generations, celebrating the vibrant traditions, unforgettable memories, and the unwavering bonds that make us who we are today.

Rooted in Cherished Traditions
From the earliest days, our family reunions began under the shade of a beloved tree. Grandpa Crockett would be there, and the air would fill with the mouth-watering aromas of hog, goat, decorated cakes with gummies, jelly cake, potato salad, sweet potatoes, and greens. These gatherings were more than just meals; they were the foundation of our shared history, teaching us the joy of simply enjoying each other's company.

Feasting, Laughing, Dancing: A Timeless Tradition
That early spirit of togetherness—eating good food, sharing stories, and dancing—is a tradition we proudly carry on. James "Buddy" Henderson, Florene Price, Samuel Kirkland, Dosie Winston, Planie Arrington, and others. Over 14 states has hosted reunions. Every reunion is a vibrant testament to our connection, a chance to reconnect with cousins, meet the next generation, and feel the powerful embrace of family. These moments matter, strengthening the bonds that remain and reminding us that life's greatest treasures are found in shared joy.

The Legacy of Maw and Paw
Every family has its pillars, and for us, Alonzo and Vista Crockett Henderson, affectionately known as Maw and Paw, are at the very heart of our story. Their love, resilience, and faith laid the groundwork for the generations that followed. We also remember Woody Crockett who helped to keep the family together in various ways. Their photo continues its journey, visiting a new state each year, symbolizing our enduring connection across distances. Their journeys remind us of where we come from and inspire us to keep their spirit alive.
Being with family at the reunion feels like coming home. The love, the laughter, the stories – it all reinforces that 'the family that prays together stays together.' It’s an invaluable experience I cherish every year."
